Cayman Island Beaches

Cayman Islands Beaches

Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world can be found along the shores of the Cayman Islands. Soft white sands run down into the aquamarine waters which are crystal clear and beautifully warm. One interesting thing to note is that all the beaches in the Cayman Islands are public up to the high water mark.

Seven Mile Beach

Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman has soft white sand strewn with seashells stretching as far as the eye can see. It is ideal for sunbathing or strolling at the water's edge and beachcombing. For those who want a little more action, there are a number of watersports activities available including parasailing, windsurfing, jet skiing, sailing, kayaking and more. The beach has an abundance of beachside bars and restaurants providing drinks and snacks all day long.

Public Beach

Grand Cayman's public beach has excellent amenities including changing rooms, restrooms, showers, beach huts and a playground for children making it popular with families. There is also a beach bar providing food and drinks.

Spotts Beach

For those who want a quieter beach experience, Spotts beach in Newlands is sheltered by cliffs. The white sands have huts and benches for public use and the barrier reef keeps waters beautifully calm for swimming.

Smith Cove

Smith Cove is on the South sound of Grand Cayman and is within sight of the cruise ships which frequent the islands. Restrooms, showers and picnic benches are provided here and it is a great cove for snorkeling.

Cemetery beach

Lacking the facilities of some other beaches makes Cemetery Beach a quieter option for those who want peace and quiet. It also has superb snorkeling if you have your own equipment. There is a small island cemetery nearby, hence the name.

Rum Point

Rum Point is another attraction not to be missed with its hammocks slung between Casuarina trees and local beach bars serving excellent rum punches. The shallow waters make this bay ideal for children. There are a host of watersports available as well as changing rooms, showers and a volleyball court.

Cayman Kai

Centered on the Kaibo Beach and Grill with its New Orleans atmosphere there is always a party going on at Cayman Kai. There are hammocks, huts and benches as well as beach volleyball.
